Gateways is an independent day school for children aged 2-18 years, based in the village of Harewood, renowned for its small class sizes, exceptional teaching, and fantastic facilities. We pride ourselves on offering a warm, nurturing environment where every child is known and valued.
The Gatehouse Nursery is open from 7.30am – 6pm Monday to Friday and offers a safe, stimulating space where our 2 to 3 year-olds begin their Gateways journey. Once they turn 3, the children move to Pre-Reception, which is housed in Littlegates, also home to Reception.
As well as benefitting from the extensive school grounds, children can access other school facilities such as the dance studio, sports hall and a purpose-built enclosed playground. We offer the funded early educational entitlement (FEEE) from age 2, before and after school care, and a holiday club. We are also the proud winners of the “Best EYFS in School” category at the 2024 Nursery World Awards!
In Prep School, the maximum class size is 18 pupils ensuring each child receives individual attention and support on their learning journey. Children in Year 6 are taught the majority of their lessons in the Senior School helping them build familiarity with the environment and staff, ensuring a smooth, confident transition to the next stage of their education.
