Supporting you through pregnancy, birth and beyond
Welcoming your baby into the world can be very exciting, but it also has its challenges and can leave some people feeling worried. Baby Steps aims to help prepare you for parenthood and cope with all the new experiences that will come your way and give you and your baby the best start.
We welcome fathers or support persons to attend.
The Role of a Support Person
What happens at Baby Steps?
You’ll come along to Baby Steps with other parents-to-be who are at a similar stage of pregnancy
Group starts around 26th to 30th week of pregnancy
We will all meet for approx. 2 hours every week
We meet six times before your baby is born
When your baby is born, we will visit you to meet your baby and see how you all are.
We meet three times afterwards with your baby
Groups are friendly and relaxed; refreshments are provided.
Together we will talk about:
How Our Babies Develop
We will introduce the programme, and start thinking about our babies, and what they might be like.
Health and Wellbeing
We will discuss the best way to improve our health and how good we feel, and how this affects our babies
Becoming a Parent
We will explore the joys in addition to the stresses and strains that new parents might experience and how to deal with these
Giving birth
What to expect during labour and birth and how those around you can help and support you.
Meeting and Caring for our Babies

After Birth we have 3 more sessions;
Welcoming our Babies
