Exceptional Early Years Education, designed by parents, for parents
Opening in Wetherby, March 2023
May I introduce myself; my name is Eleanor Thompson, and I am the Director of Education at Cub, a brand-new group of nurseries opening in North Leeds in 2023.
We all know that being a parent today has never been more of a juggle … as we balance our work, our family, our homes, our social lives, and our wellbeing, the demands on our time have never been greater. During my career, I have worked as a Nursery Manager, Inspector, an Early Years Consultant and Trainer, but like many of you, my role as ‘mum’ to my two little ones, Oliver, and Isabelle, challenges me the most!
The founders of Cub were united by a shared vision of a modern nursery, one that not only provides first class childcare in a contemporary, enabling environment, but also supports and empowers parents through the provision of services and facilities that make every day working life that little bit easier.
Cub Wetherby will open in March 2023; spanning more than 10,000 sq ft, the nursery will feature five scandi-inspired playrooms, dedicated to babies, toddlers, and pre-school aged groups. Within these amazing environments, nurturing early years’ educators will encourage creativity, curiosity, and communication through the delivery of a progressive, arts inspired curriculum that draws on pioneering theorists including Maria Montessori and Reggio Emilia.
Outside, there will be an incredible 3,000 sq ft playspace, specifically designed to encourage physical activity and outdoor exploration, a key pillar of the Cub curriculum. Children will be encouraged to embrace play-led learning, developing self-confidence and independence while growing healthy, strong, and resilient.
Leading on a shared vision for inclusive, inspirational, early years education, my mission is to ensure that every child that attends our nurseries feels safe, loved, has oodles of fun, and makes excellent progress.
And while the children enjoy learning, parents will be able to catch-up on work or take some precious timeout in the Cub Lounge – an onsite cafe serving specialty coffee, and a food menu that boasts the freshest locally sourced ingredients. There will also be a studio space hosting an evolving parent and child friendly programme of activity including yoga, sensory sessions, educational events, and fitness classes.
Priority places will be available to those who register their interest before Friday 26th August 2022, with the first wave of registrations then opening to the public on 5th September 2022.
