Last year saw Filthy Soup working with school classes at Horsforth Newlaithes Primary School, showing the children their process and getting them to contribute to a piece of art.
‘Schools have so little resources and time given to the creative arts, so it was great to be invited along to spend some time with the children. They were so enthusiastic, and it was nice for them to see their artwork contributions turned into a finished class piece.’
After being involved in the Horsforth Walk of Art last year, Filthy Soup also ran a competition for children to be part of a new product range. The winner getting the chance to have their artwork printed. They hope to do more fun activities this year at the Walk of Art on 4th and 5th July 2020.
‘We loved seeing the competition entries, and, as a child it can be very exciting to think that your work could actually be printed and sold as a product. ’
The new range, called ‘Love Letters,’ can be found online at www.filthysoup.com. The postcards and badges make great unique personalised gifts, without breaking the bank.
‘We wanted to create a range that would let the user be creative. The artwork can be framed, strung as bunting, worn, or even used as a bookmark. Christmas also saw customers use the badges as Christmas cracker gifts and the postcards as name places.’
Alongside this range, you’ll find a whole host of greeting cards, that are inspired by family life and dining table conversations. They hope to expand their products over the coming months and are looking for suggestions and feedback about the type of products you’d like to see. They would love any thoughts to be emailed to marianne@filthysoup.com.
