Prepare to be transported into a cosmic wonderland as the heart of the city is adorned with breathtaking free-to-view installations and free immersive experiences including;
Alien Zoo Exhibit at the Merrion Centre: Unearth the Wonders of the Universe For intrepid explorers, the Merrion Centre will host the Alien Zoo, an interactive mixed reality (MR) exhibit curated by XR storyteller Martin Taylor and multimedia artist Wayne Sables. Step into a wondrous interactive menagerie of strange alien life forms, igniting imagination and curiosity.

Charge down to the museum this Easter and explore the world-famous collection of arms and armour right here in the heart of Yorkshire. The museum is open every day of the Easter holidays, admission is free, and there’ll be plenty of performances and demonstrations to keep the whole family entertained. There will be special Medieval-themed activities with armoured combats and battle stories in the second week of the holidays.

Kirkstall Abbey (FREE)
Explore one of the most complete examples of a medieval Cistercian abbey in Britain. Set in wonderful parkland along the banks of the River Aire, Kirkstall Abbey boast historic architecture amid a haven of wildlife and greenery. Children will love to explore the ruins!

Roundhay Park Easter Egg Hunt (Free Entry)

15 decorated (2D) eggs will be placed around the park from the woods to the playgrounds and can be located with the help of a map (posted on @catcat_events instagram)
A secret Golden Egg will be hiding somewhere in the park! Photos of the Golden egg posted on Instagram with @catcat_events tagged will be entered into a draw for a chance to win a giant chocolate egg.
Kids Crafts at the White Rose

White Rose Shopping Centre is hosting a series of free crafting activities this Easter school holiday. From 2nd to 5th April, children are invited to enjoy free crafting events in White Rose’s Central Atrium. Activities will be hosted by local family fun specialists Boomchikkaboom, including wand and lantern making, plant pot decorating, or even making your own wind catcher. These are available for drop ins between 11am and 4pm.

The National Science and Media Museum allows you to explore the science and culture of image and sound technologies and the impact they have on our lives.
Alongside many events, festivals and temporary exhibitions, there is also the permanent gallery called Wonderlab. Here you can touch, try and photograph your experience as you wander through 20 amazing exhibits. You can get lost in mirrors, make art using light and even travel through a laser tunnel.
There are also three cinema screens, including an IMAX theatre.
Entry to the museum, exhibitions and permanent galleries is free. You may need to book tickets for some of the special events. Some arcade games have a small charge and there is a charge for cinema and IMAX tickets.
