Jubilee House Party Game & Activity Ideas for Kids
Queen Fancy Dress. Get your guests to dress in style- with a competition to win the award for the best dressed Queen!
Jubilee Corners. Assign each of the four corners of the room – Queen of Hearts, Queen of Spades, Queen of Diamonds, Queen of Clubs. Play some Jubilee Music. Every time the music stops, run to a corner of the room. Pull out a card from a pack- whichever the suite of cards – whoever is in that corner is out. Repeat until there’s a winner (who is rewarded with a Crown!).
Pin the Crown on the Queen. Or pin the jewel on the crown. A twist on Pin the Tail on the Donkey.
Who Am I? One for the older kids. Pop a selection of famous royals (or famous people with a Royal connection) on names on cards. Players must pick out a card- the others guess who they are in the quickest time using only yes/no questions.
Jubilee Quiz. Which child knows the most about the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and why we are celebrating?
Portrait of the Queen. Who can make/ draw the best portrait of the queen? Why not use craft materials to try?
Design your own Jubilee Party Crown! Use a template to colour in and stick, or how about a Pipe Cleaner Crown!
Jubilee Easy Bakes. This is a great activity for children in the run up to the Jubilee Party, and then you can enjoy your rewards at the end! For a fun party activity, why not get children to decorate some pre-baked buns too?

Jubilee Garden Games
Do you have Garden Jenga? Challenge the children to Make a Tower!
Marshmallow Golf. Add your name to the marshmallows… best part is no damage!!
Traditional Garden Games. See if any of your guests can bring along some traditional games like croquet, skittles, coconut shy and boules!
Chalk maze. Mark some challenges on a hard surface (or the path outside your home) with chalk. Create challenges like jumping, walking on a line, spins and silly tasks.
Set aside time for some Traditional children’s playground games such as hopscotch, skipping, egg and spoon, three-legged race, What’s the time Mr Wolf?
Picture Trail. Stick pictures of the Queen around your house and garden, children must find them all in the quickest time!
Ribbon wands. Create ribbon wands by tying red, whit and blue ribbons to sticks and letting children play with them.
Picnics If you’re expecting a lot of people to come to your House or Garden Party, then easily solve the problem of additional seating by providing picnic rugs spread out!
Jubilee House Party Decoration Ideas
Red, white and blue bunting. Rather than buying pre-made, make this an activity for the kids to get involved with. Give them old magazines to cut up sticking red, white and blue pictures together. Or simply get them to colour in and make bunting.
Paper chains. If your children are younger, an easier option for them might be to stick and make patriotic paper chains. Cut out strips of blue, red and white paper and get them to stick them togther for you.
Create a Jubilee Wreath for your Front Door. There are lots of suggestions on Pinterest for you to get started- and again, this could be something the children do in advance. Use coloured tissue, pom poms or even just design their own with pens! Or how about Patriotic Handprints made into a wreath- a great Family addition!
Photo Booth Fun! Create a giant props box full of Traditional Royal & British items (or you could even ask your guests to each bring along an item for the box) and you have an instant selfie-station. Perfect for your guests to remember your Jubilee Party for years to come!
Jubilee Party Food Ideas
Afternoon Tea. Let’s face it, everyone will be expecting a good Jubilee Afternoon Tea Spread! There are some great suggestions for Afternoon Tea on the BBC Good Food Website. Make it easy on yourself. If you have lots of kids running around you wont want to stand cooking, so having cold platters means that you can pre-prepare everything in advance.
Union Jack Buns
BBQ or Hog Roast.
Make Your Own Pizza (well decorate at least- how about challenging children to make the faces of the Royal Family?)
