Bert’s Barrow Pick your Own Strawberry Field

Bert’s Barrow is a small family run farm in Hillam, selling fresh fruit and vegetables, eggs and local produce. They have a lovely courtyard area with tables where you can sit and enjoy a coffee or ice cream. There are pedal tractors to keep the kids entertained as well as goats, chickens and horses to see.

Pick your own strawberries from June to August.  Open every day from 10am.

Horsforth PYO

Farming in Horsforth for over 60 years the Kemp family  started the popular outdoor pick your own in 1984. The pick your own  concentrates on strawberries and raspberries, with a number of varieties of  each to enable as long a picking season as possible for our customers.

Opening Times:  Daily 10am – 7pm  (last entry for picking 6.30pm. Will close the PYO if it persistently rains.

Other information:

  • Drinks, cream and Brymor ice cream available.
  • Facepainting is available every Friday, Saturday & Sunday.
  • Tractor & Trailer rides available every Saturday & Sunday.
  • Free on-site parking is available in the field adjacent to the picking site.
  • Range of baskets to pick into which are recyclable/compostable. You can take your own basket but it must be weighed before you commence picking.
  • Portaloos are available.
  • Cash and cards (although card machine can be slow!)
