North Leeds and the surrounding areas are a fantastic place for bringing up children and there is plenty going on for children.
Below is a list of all the local playgroups and drop in sessions on a Tuesday and also details of children’s activities and classes available across our area. Please contact the organisers directly if you would like to find out further information or to confirm class times or costs.
At award winning ARTventurers we run colourful, creative (often messy!) art, craft and creative play sessions for babies, toddlers and children as well as holiday classes and workshops, fantastic creative birthday parties, after school clubs and other events for children of all ages.

Our combined massage and yoga classes are a wonderful experience for both parent and baby offering a special time for you to lovingly communicate through nurturing touch.
Our relaxed and friendly sessions are a gentle combination of traditional Indian and Swedish massage strokes, reflexology and adapted baby yoga. There’s also lots of singing and some gentle sensory play too!
As well as being a fantastic way to bond, classes aid your little one’s brain development, strengthen and tone muscles and help to develop balance and co-ordination.

Learn how to harness the soothing, nurturing power of massage at our baby massage classes in Harrogate, Selby, Guiseley and Wetherby.
In addition to helping you and your baby relax, massage is a great way to relieve common ailments like wind, colic and constipation and helping you and your baby to sleep. Baby massage can also provide a real neurological boost to your baby, helping to promote brain development, whilst strengthening the parent/baby bond.
Over the four-week course, you’ll learn the best ways to massage your baby, including a range of strokes, when to massage, how long to massage for, and how to adapt your massage to meet the needs of your baby.
Group baby classes are open to parents of babies aged 6 weeks to 7 months (crawling) – and are held at Wetherby, and Nuffield Health in Harrogate and Guiseley. For each class, you’ll need to bring your own cushion and towel. Massage oil and a baby massage guide will be provided. You can also book virtual classes and home tuition, available across North Leeds and Harrogate.

Mini Maracas provide Baby, Toddler and Preschooler classes through the Baby Massage course and Music and Movement program in North Leeds.
The Music and Movement classes are suitable for children aged 6 months to preschoolers. The 40 minute classes are fun, relaxed and educational. During the classes you will enjoy music through singing, dancing, and playing percussion instruments.
The classes are designed around the National Curriculum’s Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The classes will contribute to the development of your child’s communication skills, numeracy skills, physical capability, and social & emotional development.
The Baby Massage course is suitable for babies aged around 6 weeks to crawling. Your baby massage instructor is qualified and registered with the International Association of Infant Massage (IAIM) which is accredited by the Royal College of Midwives.
The course combines traditional Indian and Swedish massage strokes, reflexology and yoga.
During the course your instructor will demonstrate on Alice (a doll!). You will receive a 50ml bottle of massage oil, an instruction booklet and Certificate of Attendance for your keepsake box!

Moo Music Leeds run interactive, multisensory, music sessions for babies and children under 5 with their parents, grandparents or carers too. The children sing, dance, play, learn and have fun. Music is an essential part of every child’s development and each week we explore the music with sensory activities, signing, props and instruments to a new and exciting theme.

The newest addition to our line-up, Baby Massage is all about nurturing a wonderful bond with your newborn. Designed for babies not yet crawling, our qualified Farmers will show you how to massage your baby confidently so that you can continue with it at home.

Are you a new parent and love the outdoors?
Join our baby walking group for no-commitment and (very) informal meet-ups with other new parents! We’re a group of like-minded parents who arrange times to walk around Leeds, Harrogate and Wakefield, including a mixture of buggy and sling walks.
Please note- we meet as friends to walk and talk! We don’t have training and are not insured, we just like to get together and walk!!

My Baby Can Dance is for 1-4 year olds. It’s music and action based, with lots of interactive directions to explore.
Rhythm Time Leeds award-winning, multi-sensory musical Young Baby Courses are suitable from birth to 6 months old.
These fabulous courses are created specifically to help your newborn’s early development. It is perfect for babies that are only a few weeks old.

Pyjama Drama delivers drama and play classes for babies and children up to 7 years. Play is an essential part of childhood. Age 2 – 3.5: Youngest classes require full parent participation and offer a fantastic opportunity to spend quality time with your child whilst they learn new skills, meet new friends and have an exciting introduction to Rugby.
Age 3.5 – 5: These classes do not require full parent participation. Your Rugbytot will be part of a dynamic session that will develop their social and physical skills in a positive environment.
Age 5 -7: Older age group classes really start to prepare children for life after Rugbytots. The same structure is followed but these sessions involve advanced team games and ensure that the basic skills of rugby are coached in the right way by maintaining small class numbers.

At Shake Rattle & Boogie we provide exciting weekly dance and music classes for 0-5 year olds.
We also provide unique party experiences for children for any occasion including birthday’s, Christening’s and other special events.
We work in schools and nurseries right through the academic year focusing on getting active, creativity in the curriculum as well as running after school clubs. Shake Rattle & Boogie won ‘best for getting children active’ in the 2018 Hoop Awards and Kimberley also won ‘Hoop Hero’ for inspiring children.

Baby signing is a fantastic skill to learn with your little one, enabling you to communicate with each other from an early age and encourage their social development.
Our great fun, music based classes support your family, as you discover the benefits for yourself!
Sing and Sign Babes is a gentle 5 week music and sensory course with an emphasis on communication. Suitable from birth to 6 months. This lovely class explores eye contact, gesture, and anticipation, together with lots of cuddles, tickles and some simple signs. All building the framework for communication, brought to you using our magic ingredient – music!
The Stage 1 course introduces 6-14 month olds, and their families, to the wonders of baby signing. Over 100 signs are covered in the 10 week course, relating to daily routines (like meal times, getting changed, bedtime etc), animals, vehicles and lots more.
The Stage 2 course gives 14-30 month olds, and their families, the opportunity to enjoy more complex topics, with more physical exertion! More animals to encounter, colours to explore, and lots of weather conditions to experience over the 10 weeks! As children develop speech, having the support of a physical gesture alongside emerging words, makes it much less frustrating for everyone!
The Little Gym of Leeds offers progressively structured classes and a positive learning environment to create opportunities for your child to try new things and build self-confidence, all with a grin that stretches from ear to ear.
