The first Meanwood Festival was held in 2014. Now a firm favourite in the Meanwood calendar it aims to inspire with a range of different activities in locations around Meanwood over a 10 day period. The fourth Festival will run from Saturday 19th May 2018 and conclude with the Annual Fun Day on Bank Holiday Monday 28th May.
The Festival is a great opportunity to showcase the diverse range of activities, community groups and businesses operating within the Meanwood area. Events will take place in different locations over the 10 day period, encompassing music, art, literature, heritage, drama, food and drink. It has become a firm favourite in the Meanwood calendar and the Fun Day is the largest event held in the area, enjoyed by an estimated 4000+ people last year.

Rounding off the Festival, the Annual Family Fun Day will be held on the cricket pitch on Parkside Road by the Myrtle Tavern on Bank Holiday Monday (28th), 12pm-4pm. This year will be bigger and better than ever before with over 60 community and craft stalls, entertainment, displays, food from around the world and a host of children’s activities including sitting on a fire engine, play areas, circus skills, donkey rides, meet Ronnie the Rhino, owl adventures, falconry, mobile zoo and lots more!
Lots of activities are under cover, so even if the weather isn’t kind there will still be plenty to do! After the Fun Day, there will be a mini Music Festival featuring Surefire Affair and Hairballs.
