If you fancy getting involved in the Royal Wedding this weekend we’ve rounded up some of the places holding family-friendly events and activities for the celebration. Or if you prefer why not throw your own Royal Wedding Party, we have included some great ideas on how you can get the kids involved in the celebrations!
The Little Bookshop in Chapel Allerton is holding a ‘Rather Royal Storytime’ on Friday and Saturday, 11.30am.
Lidgett Lane Community Centre has a ‘Royal Wedding’ themed Stay and Play on Saturday. They will be screening the big event for anyone who wants to watch. Lots of outdoor space for the kids to play.
Myrtle Tavern is holding a ‘Garden Party’ to celebrate the Royal Wedding.
Brunch will be served between 11- 3pm, or alternatively (on this day only) you can bring your own picnic along. There will also be live music between 2-4pm.
The Mustard Pot will be screening the wedding in their garden! There will be gin, hats, cake and sunshine!
Old Kings Arms, Town Street, Horsforth are showing the ceremony on the screens plus, children’s face painting, a giant jenga tournament, Pimms & lemonade and a free drink if you’re called Meghan or Harry! (ID required!)
Give your party a royal theme with your own designs of red, white & blue bunting! There is a great free bunting template which you can download here. Grab your paints, crayons, pens and crafting materials and get busy! Once the designs are complete simple cut the flags and attach together with ribbon or string!
This one will have to be done in advance (or you could buy a plain hat & decorate it, but where’s the fun in that eh?!)
Grab some old newspaper, PVA glue, some balloons and some paint and create your own wedding party hat from Papier mache!! For a top hat try using a flower pot covered in cling film for your mould!
