The Summer holidays are just under a month away, so it’s time to start thinking about Thank You gifts for the Teachers, who have done such a good job over the last year looking after our little ones!  

There are some great ways to show your appreciation for Teachers so we’ve put together some gift ideas available from local businesses and recommendations from fellow Mumblers. Take your pick!

Other gift ideas could include:

  • Flowers or a plant (we are spoilt for choice of local florists in North Leeds), but you might want to check if the teacher is jetting off as soon as the school bell rings, otherwise they’ll be away and won’t get to enjoy them.
  • Prepare a teacher “Summer Survival Thank You Bucket.”  Children can have fun decorating the bucket and then fill with little treats for the teacher over the summer such as a magazine, sweets, homemade gifts etc.
  • Something practical like cotton/canvas tote bags – to carry all that marking home or a book by their favourite author or a reusable coffee mug.

If time is not on your side, why not club together with other parents in the class and put a couple of pounds in and use the money to buy a voucher from a local shop – maybe somewhere that does a nice afternoon tea.

Whatever you decide, I know all teachers will be grateful for whatever turns up on their desks, however large or small, bought or homemade. The most important thing is that we say THANK YOU.
