Baby Swimmers & Swimmers Academy
Teach your little one the enjoyment of water!
At Baby Swimmers, we follow the Starfish Awards, so little ones can gain water confidence and build a foundation to swim unaided in the future. We play games and sing songs which are skill related and also teach water safety skills so they can learn to swim back to the side, hold on and climb out when they are strong enough. Our structured classes work towards this and are also fantastic for bonding with your little one, as well as enjoying yourselves in a fun relaxed atmosphere, which we always ensure is at your little ones own pace including underwater swims. Babies use their natural reflexes when they are in water, so it is always a good idea to start as soon as you can, as swimming is a great workout and helps to strengthen their muscles and also increases alertness.
For toddlers, we follow the STA Stanley Awards, so again little ones can gain water confidence and build a foundation to swim unaided. For this age group we still sing songs and have fun with games and also start to teach the basic strokes, continuing with water safety skills and teaching your toddler to hold on, turn, then push off the side to swim to you independently. Classes will focus on floating, learning to tread water, rolling, push and glides, diving for sinkers and more.

Bubbles Swim School
Bubbles Swim School is a family run business, with over 30 years experience in teaching children to swim. We offer lessons for age 2 upwards and run from various venues across Leeds. Why not start your child’s swim journey in one of our Parent and Toddler classes for age 2 – 4, which offer an excellent introduction to swimming through a series of songs, rhymes and games. For the more independent preschooler, we have classes without parents in the pool for age 3.5 – 5 which run on weekday mornings and for school age children we run lessons every evening and weekend. Starfish Swimming School
Starfish Swimming School is a happy, friendly and very experienced business, with staff that have over 20/30 years knowledge of teaching children to swim. The Teaching staff at Starfish deliver lessons at the highest standard which start from beginner (non-swimmer) all the way to advanced and life-saving skills (rookie lifesaving). All Teachers are ASA Level 2 qualified with NPLQ Lifeguard qualification.Starfish offer swimming lessons from the age of 4 years and teach on a 1-4 child ratio. Children are assessed at all times and progress to the appropriate group when needed. Lessons run in conjunction with the amateur swimming association award scheme.

Swimbabes
Swimbabes baby swimming programme is specifically designed to give little swimmers confidence in the water, and teach them valuable life-saving skills. Delivered by qualified teachers in warm pools, the Swimbabes programme is perfect for babies and pre-schoolers.
All babies begin on a Preliminary 1 course, which introduces the ‘play-train-play’ programme.
Babies then progress at their own pace through Preliminary 2 (building on basic skills); Intermediate (introducing skills such as turning and swimming to hold on at the side); Advanced (breath holding and greater water confidence skills); and finally to Swim School (independent swimming) with eventual graduation from the Swimbabes programme.
All courses are on average 10 weeks long and classes are either 25 minutes or half an hour long, depending on your chosen venue.

Swimbrite Swimming School
Swimbrite has a team of instructors all of whom share a wealth of experience working with babies, children and adults of all ages and needs. We run both private and group lessons at The Village Hotel Headingley, The Mercure Leeds Parkway Hotel, Woodhouse Grove School. and at The Grammar School at Leeds we run our advanced coaching sessions.
We work with the ASA Learn to swim pathway which includes the Discover Duckling Certificates for babies, Duckling awards for pre-school and beginners and then the National Plan Scheme for confident beginners up to coaching level.
Swimbrite work with special needs children in all our pools including working for SNAPS charity in their hydro pool at Pennyfields. Most of our instructors are basic Makaton trained.

Water Babies
Water confidence builds life confidence.
Our leading swim programme has been developed to build water confidence and skills throughout your little one’s first five years. We work closely with Swim England, the national governing body for swimming, and we’ve woven their learn to swim framework through our programme. You’ll love nothing more than seeing their progression as your little one moves from fun floating, kicking and splashing to swimming independently.
