Those launching into an exercise programme should consider they are generally unable to go from coach to Olympic podium in a month. Whilst it sounds funny, it’s all too common to get the buzz, work like crazy, then hit a wall.
What few consider is the body needs to adapt. Muscles need to break and grow, the central nervous system needs to adapt to new stressors and the lungs need a greater processing capacity.
