What’s a good Valentine’s without a romantic meal?
Ok, it might not just be on your own. But some fresh air with your toddler in the buggy might send them to sleep? Make sure that your walk involves a cheeky stop where you can enjoy some fizz and chocolates too!!
There may well be no better time to enjoy an evening under the stars than Valentine’s Day in Lockdown (ahem, weather permitting)? Wrap up cosy, get out some blankets and snuggle under the winter sky. Have you got a fire pit? Light it! Have a BBQ? Light it (they’re really not just for summer!). Pizza Ovens, camping stoves.. they’re all options. Toast some marshmallows, roast some chestnuts and sip on mulled wine. Nope, that’s not just for Christmas. If it’s possible, find some fairy lights to make it all twinkly and even more romantic.
Many local businesses are still able to trade, including hot tub hire, home cinema hire, even home discos! Anyone local to Leeds could find some inspiration on this blog.
Just because it’s your household, you can still keep things special. Get out that little black dress…. dust off that tux. Tonight we party darrrrrrrling!!
Treat your partner or treat BOTH of you with an at-home spa experience. Candles, massages, and a hot bath sprinkled with rose petals or a bath bomb. Get out some fluffy dressing gowns, slippers and cucumbers for your eyes to finish the experience off.
Not sure this needs any explaining. Just remember to get snacks…. all that Netflix and Chillin’ might give you an appetite 😉
If you love a good Bar Crawl, then make each room in your home a different bar, with a different theme, different music…. and obviously different drinks! Decorations optional. Try Mojitos in the Cuban bar with dance floor, Sip a Long Island Iced Tea in the Sunset Lounge, then turn the disco lights on and sip vodka and cokes as you hit the clubs!
Or how about organizing a Virtual Wine Tasting? Lots of people offering this service- if you’re local to Leeds try this one from Flick the Wine Geek
We may be in lockdown right now, but it wont last forever. Snuggle up on the sofa and browse holidays, days out and experiences. Plan some things to look forward to when life resumed to normality.
If you have kids at home make sure you make the day fun for them too! Here are some ideas on Valentine’s activities to do with children.
