Park in Wetherby at the Old Station Car Park, where the entrance to the Harland Trail is at the far side with clear signposting to Spofforth.
The track is well surfaced until you leave Wetherby, where in wetter weather it can get muddier so trickier to cycle in places. That said, my four year cyclist of a few months old did manage it all (albeit rather slowly), so I’m sure most children would be fine.
It’s just one straight track so no maps are needed. At the end of the track in Spofforth, cross the road to enjoy a children’s playground. Turn right onto the main road (just be aware that cars can go rather fast on this stretch) if you want to enjoy the charms of the Castle pub, or a little further to picnic and potter at Spofforth Castle.
