Racing can be enjoyed by the family all year round, especially as accompanied under 18’s race for free, so not only is it a fun day out but it doesn’t have to be expensive either!
As the Easter holidays approach, the inevitable question of “where can we go with the children?” can be heard from parents and carers across the country. Phrases like “family day out” or “things to do with the kids” will be filling the search engines as calendars are carefully planned, (or usually in our case, in desperation!) in order to get the children away from screens and outdoors.
School-aged children and young people eligible for income-related Free School Meals can take part in amazing, free activities with a healthy meal from 20th December to 6th January.
Activities vary and can include sports, outdoor activities, dance, arts and crafts, as well as visits to attractions like Temple Newsam and Lotherton Hall. Every child and young person will receive a tasty nutritious meal that meets their dietary requirements.
There are over 90 Healthy Holidays clubs across Leeds, run by schools, community organisations, and Leeds City Council’s hubs and libraries.
There are children and young people who are not eligible for Free School Meals who can also attend the programme. Find out about the qualifying criteria in the Healthy Holidays Leeds FAQs section.
