Children are being encouraged to join a bear hunt, making walks around neighbourhoods and villages lots of fun during the COVID-19 disruption.
People are placing teddy bears in windows that are visible from the road, so families on a walk or drive can spot them without having to interact with others.
The hunt is inspired by the children’s book We’re Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen in which the characters sing: “We’re going on a bear hunt, we’re going to catch a big one — what a beautiful day, we’re not scared.’’
Although this a great way of bringing families together in the community, care should be taken to social distance and there should be a two metre gap when passing others.
