Boris Johnson announced this lunchtime a host of changes, in line with the Governments ‘road map’, to the lockdown restrictions we and businesses have seen over the last 3 months in England.
A summary of some of the key points:
- Reduction of the social distancing measures from 2m to 1m where it is not possible to keep a 2m distance
- You can meet another household (of any size) now inside as well as outside and stay overnight
- Parents can get help with childcare from friends and family
- Those of you with hair longer that you want it to be or roots that have never been so big can now go to the hairdressers or barbers to have your hair cut by a professional!
- The tourist industry will re-open with hotels, B&B, self catering cottages and caravan & camping sites welcoming holiday visitors!
- Pubs and restaurants to re-open
- You can go for a day out to the museums, galleries and theme parks!
- You don’t need to argue with your kids in local parks as playgrounds will open up!
- Cinemas, libraries and community centres can re-open
However, spas (I know we could all do with a spa break at the moment!!), indoor soft play centres, bowling alleys, water parks, indoor gyms and swimming pools will remain closed at the moment.
