Christmas Tree Collection – 9th January to 13th January

January 9, 2018 @ 8:00 am - January 13, 2018 @ 5:00 pm

Christmas can be a really busy time for everyone and after Santa has been and gone and the last mince pies have been eaten, the last thing you want to do is worry about getting rid of your tree.

For the 4th year in a row St Gemma’s Hospice is running a Christmas Tree Collection in partnership with Leeds City Council and Paragon Routing Optimisation to collect your Christmas trees.  St Gemma’s also relies on the generosity and support of local van hire companies to donate vans and over 100 volunteers to donate their time in order to make this collection as successful as possible; this year they hope to collect over 2,000 Christmas trees and raise £15,000 for patient care.

It’s really easy to benefit from this service, all that is asked is to select a donation amount to St Gemma’s Hospice, live in an eligible postcode and leave your Christmas tree for us to find (please take the decorations off it first too!)

Due to resources and access to waste recycling sites, this collection is only available to residents in the following postcodes: LS6, LS7, LS8, LS13, LS14, LS15, LS16, LS17, LS18, LS19 and LS28.

The collection will be taking place between Tuesday 9th January and Saturday 13th January.  You won’t get a specific date and time unfortunately but please leave your tree out on the Monday night and it will be collected that week.

If you want more information or have a query about St Gemma’s Christmas Tree Collection, please contact Alice Coggan at St Gemma’s.  Please also get in touch if you would like to volunteer to help that week or if you know someone with a van who might be able to help.
