The Donkey Sanctuary Leeds will be holding its Fun Dog Show on Sunday 2 June, promising a great day out for the whole family and their canine pals. The show features 11 classes, from Best Puppy to Dog Most Like its Owner, and from Best Young Handler to Judge’s Favourite.
Activities include fun terrier racing, agility and flyball. There will also be a bouncy castle and visitors will have the chance to take part in the centre’s gala games.
Delicious refreshments will be available throughout the day, including tempting homemade goodies and a barbeque. For some retail therapy, there will be a variety of trade and charity stalls offering an array of products for visitors and their pets, while the Donkey World stand will be stacked with all sorts of donkey-inspired gifts.
Set in beautiful countryside just a few miles north of Leeds, the centre is home to more than 20 resident donkeys, and visitors will be able to find out more about the important role they play in the local community. There will also be the opportunity to adopt a donkey. The centre adoption donkeys Billy O, Harbin and Ripple are key members of the herd and adopting a donkey is one way of helping the charity to continue reaching donkeys worldwide.
An entry programme costs £1 and Dog Show classes cost £2 each, or 3 for £5.
All proceeds help fund the work of The Donkey Sanctuary in the community and across the world.
