The Tetley Weekender is an annual micro-festival that takes its inspiration from their next exhibition, with activities for all the family, artist-led performances, events and talks, plus great food and drink. It’s a perfect introduction to everything that happens at The Tetley!
There is lots to do for the whole family. FREE and open to all over the weekend between 11am–5pm.
FOR FAMILIES
- Fantasy Object Tree Family Art Workshop: Take inspiration from the evolving work on display and create a colourful three dimensional object to hang from a collaborative fantasy tree. Drop in anytime, Sunday, 11am-3pm, all welcome but particularly good for children aged 5-11.
- Families can create shelters outside on the Brewery Green from various recycled materials, taking inspiration from Joanna Piotrowska’s photographic series Shelter in the exhibition! (weather dependant, City Workshop if rainy). Both days, 11–4pm.
- A Leeds Dads showcase featuring giant bubbles, art tables, baby friendly zones, lego, ‘Dadcercise’, snack time, storytime and a word search treasure trail with prizes to be won. Both days, 1–4pm
- Play with a giant spirograph and take part in slime sunday with gooey and oozy slime making. Drop in for other self-led activities. Playbox is a converted shipping container, coordinated by Emma Bearman, that tours around Leeds bringing arts, craft, games, music, sport, dance and more to communities and venues. Funded by Leeds Inspired and Arts Council England. Both days, 1–5pm!
- Kids can create their own pizza! Delivita are offering hourly workshops to get creative with your food, sign up at their stand outside on the Brewery Green. On Sunday, 11am–4pm, £6.00, includes pizza and a soft drink
