Hosted by the Rothwell & District Carnival Committee. Join them for the Crowning of the May King & Queen, Maypole Dancing from 11.45, as well as petting farm, market stalls, face painting, donkey rides, fairground rides and Punch and Judy. Read more here.
Friday 3rd & Saturday 4th May
Bring the kids on Saturday when there will be free entertainment, games, outdoor space, live music and street food. Under 12s enter for free.
Monday 6th May: Mardi Gras
The fabulous ‘Mardi Gras’ parade, with over 1000 people will enter the Showfield around 11.45am. Get ready for the most amazing and impressive parade ever!
Along with our headline act ‘Defying Gravity‘ in the Discover Ilkley arena, there will be performances from ND Dance, Ilkley Gym Club, Kaali Arts & Fitness and Birds Of Pray, all hosted by Rombalds Radio.
The Ilkley Rocks music stage returns, as does the popular Dog Show. The kids free area will see the Craft Tent, magic, Circus Skills, Punch & Judy and more! You’ll be able to get up close to the incredible Birds Of Pray as they will be on the field, as will Donkey Rides, inflatables and many stalls and attractions.
The Ridezone Funfair will be on East Holmes Field, LS29 0BZ, Friday to Monday, see times here. On Monday the Funfair will be within the Carnival Showground where a ticket will be required.
National Coal Mining Museum
Throughout the day visitors will have the chance to view exhibits of fossils, minerals, and rocks, then see rock-cutting and polishing demonstrations and get the opportunity to have your favourite rock identified by experts.
Younger visitors can indulge their creativity with a host of hands-on activities including rock painting, sand painting and creating their own fossil from plaster at our Blacksmith’s. There’s also a fun fossil hunt from noon to 4pm at the sand pits and the chance to learn the art of rag rugging, using old scraps of material to create textiles.

The Playhive will provide indoor entertainment whatever the weather- choose from either a pre-selected time for 1.5 hours play or the flexible Anytime ticket which allows you to come and go as you please all day.
Outdoors, you have access to the Enchanted Forest, including the playgrounds, Maze, inflatables, pedal go-karts and ride-on tractors. The Buccaneer Boats will also be operating!

4th-6th May 2024
Children with a teddy bear travel for free, with the opportunity for all to go for a picnic in Middleton Park. If the Child doesn’t have a bear with them, they will be charged for a ticket, but will receive a bear for their own.
Our cafe is selling children’s picnic box consisting of a sandwich, a piece of fruit, a packet of crisps, a cake bar, and a drink. They also include an activity sheet and some crayons.
These are also available to pre-order when you buy your tickets online, and cost £3.75 per box.
