The Going is Soft to Cuddly at Wetherby Racecourse on Family Day!
As well as the exciting horse and mascot races to watch, we also have a host of additional free entertainment for the whole family on the day including the National Festival Circus, Petting farm, Barrel Train, and Inflatable Fun!

Bring the kids on Saturday 29th April when there will be mini tennis, football, rugby, Dance and other entertainment for them to try – all for FREE.

There is a community fun day in Oakwood with events at a variety of traders and in the Oakwood Car Park!

Thorner School PTA are pleased to announce the return of the Thorner Scarecrow Trail.
To celebrate the Coronation please come and enjoy a Royal walk around the beautiful village of Thorner. Please look out for Kings, Queens and all things regal. There might be some surprises out there.
Monday 1st May, 11am-4pm. On the pastures, Stone Brig lane.
Hosted by the Rothwell & District Carnival Committee. Join them for the Crowning of the May King & Queen, Maypole Dancing from 11.45, as well as petting farm, market stalls, face painting, donkey rides, fairground rides and Punch and Judy. Read more here.
Saturday April 29th, National Coal Mining Museum
Throughout the day visitors will have the chance to view exhibits of fossils, minerals, and rocks, then see rock-cutting and polishing demonstrations and get the opportunity to have your favourite rock identified by experts.
Younger visitors can indulge their creativity with a host of hands-on activities including rock painting, sand painting and creating their own fossil from plaster at our Blacksmith’s. There’s also a fun fossil hunt from noon to 4pm at the sand pits and the chance to learn the art of rag rugging, using old scraps of material to create textiles.
