Babies can enjoy Tummy Time from birth until they are around a year old and beyond.
A typically developing 3-month-old baby should be spending around 60-90 minutes on their tummy every day.
Tummy Time supports development by increasing bodily awareness and also supports key milestones such as rolling, sitting, standing and walking. Tummy Time also gives babies time to explore the world through movement and learn through interaction and play.
Sometimes babies can appear to dislike Tummy Time. They may just need a bit of extra nurturing support on their Tummy Time journey.
There are lots of baby led, loving ways to encourage Tummy Time which do not involve little ones being placed on the floor and do support a baby’s natural development.

🌸Use a wide variety of props including: puppets, instruments, lights, natural objects, dressing up, treasure baskets & bubbles
🌺Know which play equipment is safe to use with babies from birth
🌸Practise Baby Yoga holds and positions to help build strength and encourage to meet key milestones
🌺Sing and use songs and rhyme to support our themed sensory play.
