This Summer, family favourite The Myrtle Tavern have lots of activities to keep the children entertained. If you’ve never visited before, the country pub backs on to the wonderful Meanwood Park, with paths through beautiful woodland to enjoy. Their beer garden is one of the biggest in Leeds, complete with an enclosed children’s play area and rabbit garden, perfect for children of ages. This August they have a number of child-friendly activities to enjoy. Kitchen closed mondays & tuesdays and every day from 1-9aug. New this summer, they have recently planted a wildflower meadow yet to grow. They have have also added a little potting shed feature and having a bug Mural painted on our container.
Enchanted Forest Trail- ALL SUMMER
In the woods to the back of the garden we have created an Enchanted Forrest with things in the garden & forest for people to spot up high for our Enchanted Forest Trail. Enchanted Trail sheets can be collected from the bar everyday in August between 1am and Midday.

Pride Mini Festival- August 6
BOOMCHIKKABOOM will be takin over the garden with rainbows galore, free festival glitter for all. Music, dancing, bubbles, snow machine and MORE.
Rae of Sunshine will be joining us with their fabulous candy floss and rainbow popcorn.
Dinky Petting Farm- August 11
Join us for a delightful day at The Myrtle Tavern on Friday, August 11th, from 10am to 2pm, as we play host to the fabulous ‘Dinky Petting Farm’!
This event is specially designed for children who can’t get enough of adorable farm animals. Get ready for an unforgettable experience as your little ones get up close and personal with a menagerie of furry and feathered friends. From playful piglets to fluffy baby lambs, and even the cutest baby lamas. They’ll have a chance to meet hens with their fluffy chicks, and maybe even catch a glimpse of their majestic alpaca and endearing pygmy goats.
Admission is just £2.50 per person. So, grab your kids and join us for a day filled with laughter, petting, and farmyard fun at The Myrtle Tavern!
Pot Painting and Planting- August 16 and August 23
Join us for a morning of garden crafts and be a part of planting the wildflower and bluebell meadows for next year.
We will start with two crafts including painting a fairy door, then you will paint your own miniature plant pot to take home, we will help you pot it and give you a seed that you should see flower within 2 weeks, you can enjoy this all summer. There will also be a colouring competition.
At the end of the crafts we will invite you down to sprinkle some seeds on our new wildflower meadow and bluebell wood, then every year you will see grow something you started.
Children will also receive a glass of pixie punch. Children will require a ticket to craft, adults who need to supervise can attend free of charge.

Pestaurant- August 17
Mark your calendars for this unique opportunity, as the pestaurant will be here from 10pm to 2pm, serving up a menu like no other – edible insects!
