Looking for a great way to get your family together and enjoy a day out like no other this summer? Sign up to Mission Mud and raise money for The Royal British Legion to help the armed forces community.
For the first time in Leeds, the 2 mile long assault course will take place at Harewood House on Saturday 29th June 2019. There will be a variety of hurdles to conquer such as muddy cargo net crawls, mud slides, mud pits, balance beams, monkey bars and even walk the plank!
Being one of the only child friendly events of its kind, expect the children to be filled with excitement walking, jogging or even crawling through the course whilst knowing you are benefitting all the people that The Legion support. You can even have a second go around the course (if you still have the energy!)
Preparation for the muddy challenge
Once signing up to Mission Mud, our team will be in touch with a welcome pack including everything you need to know about the event and tips to help fundraise for your team. Registration fees are £15 for adults and £10 for children and The Legion ask that each team raises a target of £150. Information on how to make this happen can be found through the events team or on the Royal British legion website. Anything from bake sales, quiz nights to hosting Friday night dinner – you can get really creative with how you decide to fundraise and have some brilliant fun along the way. The Legion will be on hand throughout the time leading up to the event ready to help with any queries or advice needed. Contact details can be found towards the bottom!
On the day
I know what you are thinking – This sounds very messy! But do not worry mums, there will be bag drops and changing tents so after the kids (and most likely dad) have finished jumping and crawling through the mud, they are able to change before going home. All mud squaddies will receive a finisher’s medal, a Royal British Legion T-Shirt, camo face paints, transfer poppy tattoos along with enjoying music and other exciting activities back at base camp.
When the muddy mission is complete
You will have contributed hugely to the excellent work of The Royal British Legion and everything we do to help the armed forces community. The Legion provides life-long support to service personnel, veterans and their families. Helping anyone of any age and gender, who has served or is currently serving, through hardships, injury and bereavements. Support with mental health, physical health, benefits and money related problems just to name a few services the organisation provides.
There are so many ways we can get involved with aiding the work of The Legion, why not make it a muddy one?
