This month North Leeds & Wetherby Mumbler is going to be sharing some top recycling tips on our social media to encourage you to recycle more foil!! Last year Leeds residents recycled 128 tonnes of aluminium foil, which would save enough power to light up all the homes in Leeds for over 3 days! Aluminium can be recycled FOREVER, so it’s great if you can keep it out of those black bins and pop them into your green ones.

What foil and metal items can be recycled in my green bin?
Do I need to clean metal items or remove anything before recycling?
All your tins, cans and foil need is a quick rinse. Pop any lids inside the can. You don’t need to remove any labels.
When you’re popping in foil, just rinse off any chunky bits of food, it doesn’t have to be perfect!
