Gifted Review
LIFERYDER was set up by two dads RIGHT HERE IN YORKSHIRE- with the mission to make the best scooters that they could for their children. They offered us a gifted scooter and we absolutely jumped at the chance to review! The scooters are designed for kids from 5 years and over, with large ‘All Terrain’ wheels, adjustable handlebars and a lightweight frame.
We were offered the opportunity to choose our own graphics for the scooter- there is absolutely loads of designs to choose from on the website, and we went for the ‘Blast’ design. We loved the vibrant colours! You can also buy the graphics separately, so for example, if your child grew out of the ‘Unicorn’ graphics they’d originally chosen, they could switch them to something that they preferred. This scooter is made to last your child!!
We also ordered personalised number plates – obviously our daughter was nearly as excited about these as the scooter itself! It was an easy purchase system and clear website, and we delighted that the scooter arrived the very next day (yup, perfect for any impatient kiddies that you might have).
To be honest, my heart sunk a little when I saw the box and that we had to assemble the scooter ourselves. I’m not the best at this type of thing and try to avoid assembly at all costs. BUT I must say I was pleasantly surprised with the easy to follow instructions (they claim it’s a bit like LEGO and really, it was), and actually it didn’t take too long. The parts are really well made; they feel properly robust and you get the tools to use to make them too. The wheels and tyres come fully fitted and inflated. It was set-up in no time and my daughter was straight on to try it!
Over the weekend we tested out the ‘all terrain’ claim- were they really that good? I’m delighted to say that our daughter found it easy on track and on (dry) grass. I’m really looking forward to being able to go on some walks with her on the scooter. She said she didn’t feel that she had to push that hard- and she really did look like she just glided along the tracks. She was just as comfortable going uphill as downhill, and the brake was simple to use and she took to that straight away. Just brilliant really. Have a look of it in action here.
Basically, it’s the best scooter we’ve seen- for exactly the uses we want it for. It’s just as good picking her up from school as it will be to motivate her to join us when we want to go for walks. I love that you can adjust the handle bars and change the graphics, I really will feel that she wont ever need another scooter now, so am totally grateful! You can undo some bolts to fold the frame if you did want to take this on holiday with you (we’ll absolutely be taking this up to Scotland with us later this year when we’re walking between the campsite and village), but it’s not ‘fast folding’; it’s built to be robust.
