North Leeds to Bradford is only 30 minutes so it’s far closer than I thought and there is a multi-storey car park right next door so it’s easy to park (we only paid £2.10 and were there 90 minutes).
We had booked in advance and went for the 10am session which was just as they opened (although they limit the number of people that can book on so it is never too full). Prices felt reasonable at £7.95 for an hour although adults could supervise under 4s for free. (There is also a smaller area for pre-walkers, under 18 months, at £2.95.) We had also filled in the waiver form online before we set off which meant no need to queue for this (and a big plus point versus other places where you have to do it when you arrive). After a quick safety video, we were free to start.
The open play session that we were on meant that we could use everything and there was lots to do. Although the session was full the number of things that you could do meant that it didn’t feel too busy. There were so many different types of activities involving bouncing (slides, assault course, bouncing football, basketball, maze and many more) – I didn’t know so many existed ! The mini Mumblers favourites were the drop slide and the assault course although I have to admit I joined in and my favourite was the pugil sticks – it took me back to watching the Gladiators TV programme.
The bouncing was all really relaxed and the mini Mumblers (and me) could come in and out of the bouncing area as often as needed and this also meant we could enjoy the treats in the cafe. We were early so we were happy with juice, coffee and cakes which were all nice but if you are there to eat then there looked to be quite a bit of choice – from sandwiches to hot dogs and pasties. Prices felt reasonable given they have a captive market (a slush was £2.95 which is far cheaper than other places that I’ve been with them).
Funzy also do parties, toddler and adult only session, find out more on the website here funzy.co.uk
