Moorlands School produces confident, well-rounded children who are independent thinkers with enquiring minds and a love of learning. We do this by creating an inspiring, yet caring and supportive, environment where every individual is able to live up to the Moorlands’ motto; “Intrepide” or “Be Brave”.
Our pupils understand that this motto can mean any number of things, including simply trying something new, speaking up in the classroom or challenging themselves in our on-site pool.
No pupil in our school is ever overlooked or allowed to coast. No talent remains uncovered, no light hidden. This individual-focused approach begins with our mini-Moorlanders in Nursery.
At Moorlands, we think of Nursery as playing a vital role in a child’s educational journey. After all, this is their first experience of a learning environment away from home. It is where crucial social skills are learnt and it is where a love of learning can be born. It is important to get this first step right.
But “right” is different for every child – especially in the Early Years. Our dedicated staff make it a priority to learn each individual child’s interests and idiosyncrasies to make sure that learning and play are tailored around these.
Our older pupils from further up the school love visiting Nursery through our “Buddies” System and there is nothing our youngest pupils love more than spending time with “the big ones” – many of whom started in Nursery themselves!
In fact, in a recent Survey, one of our parents commented,
“It’s a family…the children all look after each other across the year groups.”
At Moorlands, “family” is very important to us. We understand that a strong relationship between school and family is vital to nurture happy and confident children who thrive socially, in the classroom and in their co-curricular activities.
We try to make the transition between home and school as seamless as possible, offering flexibility and convenience for busy parents alongside a home from home environment for pupils.
Drop off at Moorlands is easy and stress free with ample onsite parking that is invaluable to those parents with babies or toddlers. We want pupils to arrive at Moorlands, relaxed and happy – and ready to have a wonderful day.
We offer flexible wraparound care. Pupils can arrive from 7.30am to enjoy a Moorlands breakfast and be picked up after tea at 6pm. Many of our pupils even ask to stay late so that they can take part in our large selection of after school clubs! Even better, from the term after children turn 5, this is all included in the fees.
Moorlands provides a unique environment that allows children to feel as comfortable and confident as they do at home. We are currently registering pupils to start Reception in September 2023. If the Moorlands Way sounds like it might be right for your child, please visit our website www.moorlands-school.co.uk to arrange a visit.
