Sponsored blog from Ashville College
The festive run-up is tangible here at Ashville, but we never take our eye off the bauble (sorry, ball) when it comes to helping families with those all-important school choices for the 2024 academic year and beyond.
It has been a busy time of open events recently, with excellent attendance, a buzzing atmosphere and decisions made clearer at events like our September Open Morning and our first Acorns and Prep School Open Doors of the academic year. Here’s a look at more to come for the rest of this year and early 2024:
For children aged 2 to 11
Our Reception Open Morning on Saturday 25 November will have an ‘Enchanted Forest’ theme. Join us from 9.15am to 11.00am. Parents can meet with Reception Class Teachers while children take part in fun classroom-based activities, including story time, crafts and making their very own box of treasures, before sitting around a fire and having a warm drink.
This will be followed by our next Acorns and Prep School Open Doors for parents of children aged 2 to 11, taking place on Wednesday 29 November 2023.
If you have applied or are about to apply to primary schools, we invite you to also consider the alternative of an independent education for your child. See us in action, with no obligation, so you have all the information at your disposal. Our next Open Doors events will take place on Wednesday 7 February and Wednesday 17 April 2024.
Year 7 entrance
This is a final call for those interested in our Year 7 Taster Day on Saturday 18 November, at which prospective pupils will experience a range of real lessons delivered by our specialist teachers, to please sign up.
The next stage is the Entrance Exam for Senior School and Sixth Form year groups, which will take place on Tuesday 23 January 2024. All applicants must have formally applied to the College for entry via our online form by Thursday 30 November 2023.
This will be followed by our Year 7 Scholarship Applicants Day on Friday 26 January, for current and prospective pupils strong in academia, Art, Music, Drama, or Sport to be assessed in their chosen fields.
Planning for Sixth Form?
Our Entrance Exam for prospective Sixth Formers will take place on Tuesday 23 January (see above). Your child is also warmly invited to join current Ashville Year 11s at our Sixth Form Taster Day on Thursday 18 January 2024. This is a unique opportunity for young people to sample Ashville’s full range of A Level, BTEC and Cambridge Technical qualifications, and to experience the diverse co-curricular options that the College offers. Pupils can wear suits, just as they would in the Sixth Form, and will have exclusive use of the Sixth Form Centre.
