1. Quality teaching
Taster events and visits to our school help to showcase our passion for excellence in teaching and learning. We offer more than 25 A Level, Cambridge Technical and BTEC courses to enable pupils to build a programme of study tailored to their interests and that will prepare them for their futures.
2. A purpose-built environment to thrive
For any young person, Sixth Form represents a time of enrichment, commitment and increasing independence as they move closer to adulthood. The transition from Year 11 to Sixth Form is a definite step up and our Sixth Formers enjoy wearing suits, their academic and social life in the Sixth Form Centre (our well-stocked café is extremely popular!), and the chance to be role models for younger pupils through positions of leadership and involvement in co-curricular activities.
3. We will help them get into their preferred university
Ninety-four per cent of our Summer 2023 cohort were awarded places at their chosen institutions in the UK and around the world. One third of Upper Sixth grades were at A*to A and two-thirds at A* to B. Chosen undergraduate degrees ranged from Aeronautics to Medicine, as well as Architecture, Finance and Management, Modern Foreign Languages, Physiotherapy, and Sports Management.
4. They are known as individuals
We work with every young person to get to know them and help them realise their potential, whether that is in their chosen fields of study or their co-curricular pursuits. The size of the school means we are big enough to challenge but small enough to care, so as well as being acknowledged and known during the course of day-to-day school life, each pupil is matched with a tutor who will see them daily and be their point of contact for any issues that arise throughout their time in the Sixth Form.
5. There is more to gain from Ashville Sixth Form than exam results
Across the school, we are committed to a philosophy of a holistic education, and the Sixth Form is no exception. We aim to educate ‘the whole person’ through opportunities afforded by our Future Ready and Co-Curricular programmes, while our academic and pastoral teams ensure not only that a strong academic culture and outstanding behaviour are maintained, but that there is also plenty of fun to be had, from incredible trips to end-of-term parties.
